QY SD God Gundam - Mini WIP, Assembly Cure and Review

Thank GOD I'm back! Lumix is back and my GunPla energy has been over the top! I'm feeling good this morning and built Gundam Alex.

Well more on that next time, but again, thank GOD I can finally review my QY God Gundam!

Starting off, here is the box of QY's bootleg of God Gundam (Deitg Warrior).

Unboxing this miniscule kit, there are only 5 runners along with the polycaps.

..And here's my bootleg Unicorn (mfg by Jargon), envious why he does not have a review.

Issue 01: Starting off our assembly cure, carefully shave off the chest piece by a hobby knife to snugly fit it into the chest armor.

Issue 02: Like most of my QY kits, head continues to be problematic. Cut the male connectors and apply glue to the seams.

Issue 03: Waist armor male connectors are too thick. Shave by a hobby knife or sand it down to fit the pieces.

Issue 04: Arms too have fitting issues. Cut the male connectors and then glue. Make sure you do not forget the poly cap when gluing!

Issue 05: Whew, a bunch of fitting issues, leg also needs to be glued. Cut / shave then glue.

That's about it with the cures. Straight assemble from here on and a few touch ups to add details. Notice I hate using stickers and as much as possible I use paint for the color touch ups.

Here it is! REEAAADY??! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Wow. Just wow. SD's can look so cute and BAD ASS at the same time!

Happy with the results. A pretty clean build for me there. RAAAAY GUUUN! Wut?!

Core Lander looks wicked

Domon Kasshu docks at his Gundam!

God Gundam: Yosh!

Peace man!

Hyper Saiyan Mode!! Aaaaahhhh!!!!

Ore no kono te ga Makka ni Mueru!! Shouri wo tsukameto todoroki sakebu!! Bakunetsu God Finggaaaaa!!!!!

Pros:
This kit is made to do that final pose with his arms tucked in looking ready to FIGHT!
That said, arms are moveable side to side (YES! In an SD kit!).
Arms can also bend and is attached by a polycap. Again, this is the only SD kit I've seen who does not have his arms in one solid piece.
Legs also have better articulation compared to most SD's I've seen.
Core Lander looks great.
God Gundam's arms came with translucent orange (personal pick)
In short, articulation will blow you away if you're a fan of SD's.

Cons:
QY messed up this kit with a bunch of fitting issues -- not that hard to fix, can't help but compare to their 0 Gundam which has pretty minor fixes. All in all, still good.
Hands does not come with close fists. I could have thought of better poses if I have those, though it says in the manual that the MG God Gundam's hands are compatible with this kit :)

God Gundam really rocks in the looks department. It stands out in my collection especially his burning fists. The design is unique and has shades of muscularity and street fighter in a robot body. You can never go wrong picking this kit up. This is the best articulated SD kit with his arms that bend and legs that are mechanically set up far wide apart for extreme poseability (I wish it came with closed fists).

    1. Hi Axess, if you're on PH shores, you can snag a bunch of QY SD's in 168 Divisoria mall. I haven't been there for quite a while now but I've heard there are new QY SD's released - a Sinanju and Quan[T]. :)

TT Hongli MG 1/100 Exia Ignition Mode - Review

Assembling bootleg kits can be a pain at times but this MG Exia Ignition Mode was a breeze. I was surprised from the fact that 90% went well and the other 10% were minor fixes - from shaving male connectors to gluing parts. I really enjoyed assembling my first Master Grade (I was hoping it was Bandai, my wallet was not cooperating as expected lol). Action! G...Gu...Gundaaaaaam!!!!!!!!!!! GUUUUNDAAAAMU!!! Ore wa........... Ore Wa Gundam-da!! Exia exterminating target............... Graham: Ike, Setsuna! Live and unlock the future! More swords Setsuna? Target exterminated! Joining the bunch :D Pros: Assembling is pretty easy for a bootleg Build is sturdy It came with LEDs! Cons: Joints are too stiff (for my liking, anyways, it made the kit solid though) Swords at his wait does not fit the peg in the hand Exia Repair parts does need half of the non-Repair head. (didn't bother with the transformation) The Exia Ignition Mode is a must have! I'm really g

RIP Crimson Comet

Photobucket has kidnapped my photos and I'm too lazy to re-upload and update every bit. It's been worthwhile. I'm intending to start a new blog that is more "personal" than just focus on one part of my hobby. Looking at my older posts, I can fairly say I've improved on my toy photography (and English!) in which I am thankful for this space as a medium to share my work. Thank you for reading up to this part! Cheers for 7 years!

Bandai RG Freedom - Review

First plan with this kit was to finish it as simple and as fast as possible. Sucking at panel lining, immediate change of plans to remedy the fugliness it turned out. Inspired by kits with dirt, wear and tear, and realism, I ventured in dry brushing hoping to hone my modelling skills (sure). And of course, fix the clusterfuck it has become. Thus I present, FREEDOM! Happy with the weathering but still needs a bit of polish on some parts are too busy or too "clean" Accessories Wings are a sight to behold Real Grade open hatch feature. Minimal but an effective kick Weather on the skirts and feet are perfect IMO. Glad I was able to pull it off :) Dim with the shot of the thrusters but the details on them are well put My only Kira figure. Does not project as action-y as I would like but oh well... Aaaaand ACTION! One man army is here there's nothing to fear Pew pew pew!
