TT Hongli HG 1/144 Throne Drei - WIP 01

Sorry all for the delay. I've been lazy this past 2 months and still haven't found the nack for going GunPla all out. My available hauls are not the type that I put my heart into. All that's left here is this guy - Thron Drei. Again, just like the Throne Eins, it is one of the rarest kit in TT Hongli. I had fun time with Eins so hopefully I do too with Drei. I'm positively sure that Drei also has that "perfect" mold in fitting the pieces.

Hmm... To be honest, after I assembled Eins, I am a little bit depressed with the result. Not that it turned out bad, but actually it was great. It just hit me that this kit has no special value / meaning / or something that gives me reason to get excited about. Whenever I get Char's MS, I'll obviously would start on it immediately and get the little details as perfect as possible. I'd also take a bunch of photos of it and would display it in front of my rack. And now, it's Eins and Drei. Two Mobile Suits that didn't have much impact on the 00 series. They were defeated all too soon to create a lasting effect for the audience.

'Nuff with the ramblings. Time to review this bastard!

No problem assembling the body. Pretty much as with Eins. Notice I masked the orb in his chest to prevent the Flat topcoat from flattening the clear piece.

This is probably the worst mold I've ever experienced with TT Hongli kits. The mold in the eyes were pretty much absent so I decided to put stickers instead. With no more than 5 minutes, it started peeling off so I painted the eyes with no guide whatsoever. Turned out pretty nicely though so no problems here too.

No problems assembling the head here so all in all, this is what I have so far. Take note is that this head unlike the Eins which pops off when rotated is very stable. No assembly cure for head and body! Hurray!

I wish I could have done more but that's it for this "boring" kit (sorry for the Throne fans, don't mean to diss any of you; this is a personal opinion/preference so peace) for now. Don't worry, I'll try to finish it this week and give the best effort I got. It's not my style to just assemble kits. It doesn't feel right when my work is half-assed when I'm displaying it in the shelf so... Stay tuned :)

TT Hongli MG 1/100 Exia Ignition Mode - Review

Assembling bootleg kits can be a pain at times but this MG Exia Ignition Mode was a breeze. I was surprised from the fact that 90% went well and the other 10% were minor fixes - from shaving male connectors to gluing parts. I really enjoyed assembling my first Master Grade (I was hoping it was Bandai, my wallet was not cooperating as expected lol). Action! G...Gu...Gundaaaaaam!!!!!!!!!!! GUUUUNDAAAAMU!!! Cons: Joints are too stiff (for my liking, anyways, it made the kit solid though) Swords at his wait does not fit the peg in the hand Exia Repair parts does need half of the non-Repair head. (didn't bother with the transformation) The Exia Ignition Mode is a must have! I'm really g...

RIP Crimson Comet

Photobucket has kidnapped my photos and I'm too lazy to re-upload and update every bit. It's been worthwhile. I'm intending to start a new blog that is more "personal" than just focus on one part of my hobby. Looking at my older posts, I can fairly say I've improved on my toy photography (and English!) in which I am thankful for this space as a medium to share my work. Thank you for reading up to this part! Cheers for 7 years!
