Jargon SD RX-0 Unicorn - Mini WIP and Review

This review has been late and I'll tell you why..... I've lost the right hand (@#$%!!!!). I have been disposing my runners and plastics while assembling this guy and the hand probably got tangled with the trash.... That really broke my heart </3 since this is one of the bootlegs that has been fantastic. I've replaced his hands with my MC Hi-Nu for the meantime and hopefully I can find someone who'd sell Gundam scraps that'll fit my SD Unicorn.

Also worth noting, this has NO assembly cure since the build is surprisingly (for a bootleg of course) has no manufacturing defect! Yay! The only sign that this is a bootleg is its flimsy plastic.

Painting SD kits' eyes are fun! Pretty easy because of the big parts laid out.

Technique here is to have the eyes painted with acrylic (metallic green) and then top it with enamel (black shade). With this, rubbing off the enamel from the acrylic won't affect the base paint so you can easily pattern the eyes without worrying. Enamel paints are weaker than acrylic and an enamel thinner WON'T affect the acrylic paint.

Just dab and dash the enamel black onto the piece. If the eyes got caught up with the enamel paint, get a q-tip and dip it in an enamel thinner and gently rub off the excess paint. It works like a charm, really :)

Unicorn mode head looks really cool

No problems assembling here too

Painted the red psycho frame with clear red (Yamaha Red - Bosny) to give it a more vivid look.

Well, this is the last assembly pic since the hands and feet are pretty straight forward. Have I mentioned that the Unicorn mode head is awesome?!

Here it is with his supplementary hands that are out of proportion (I know this is an SD kit that does not go with "normal" proportions with his blob head but still lol)

Unicorn looks sweet and clean, but prepare for a GUNPLAasmic transformation!

Loving how the red frame turned out. It gave a more vibrant  and meaner look compared to its original washed pink color.

Box art pose

Pew pew pew! Rifle looks badass with its design.

I'ma cut yah tah pieces

Meh, I still lean on the simple Unicorn look so this'll go to the shelf in this mode.

Pros:
NO ASSEMBLY CURES! Good job by Jargon for "perfecting" this kit
Transformation gimick

Cons:
Myself - I lost the damn right hand. T_T
None actually :D

Assembling a bootleg with little to no fix is a treat and this kit offers a legit assembly exeprience! I fell in love with Jargon and would insta-buy their kit if I saw one. There may be a Jargon SD Sinanju and hope I can snag one. Hopefully it is as good as this guy AND next time I won't lose its hand :p

TT Hongli MG 1/100 Exia Ignition Mode - Review

Assembling bootleg kits can be a pain at times but this MG Exia Ignition Mode was a breeze. I was surprised from the fact that 90% went well and the other 10% were minor fixes - from shaving male connectors to gluing parts. I really enjoyed assembling my first Master Grade (I was hoping it was Bandai, my wallet was not cooperating as expected lol). Action! G...Gu...Gundaaaaaam!!!!!!!!!!! GUUUUNDAAAAMU!!! Ore wa........... Ore Wa Gundam-da!! Exia exterminating target............... Graham: Ike, Setsuna! Live and unlock the future! More swords Setsuna? Target exterminated! Joining the bunch :D Pros: Assembling is pretty easy for a bootleg Build is sturdy It came with LEDs! Cons: Joints are too stiff (for my liking, anyways, it made the kit solid though) Swords at his wait does not fit the peg in the hand Exia Repair parts does need half of the non-Repair head. (didn't bother with the transformation) The Exia Ignition Mode is a must have! I'm really g

RIP Crimson Comet

Photobucket has kidnapped my photos and I'm too lazy to re-upload and update every bit. It's been worthwhile. I'm intending to start a new blog that is more "personal" than just focus on one part of my hobby. Looking at my older posts, I can fairly say I've improved on my toy photography (and English!) in which I am thankful for this space as a medium to share my work. Thank you for reading up to this part! Cheers for 7 years!

Bandai RG RX-78-2 Gundam - Review

The much anticipated (and delayed) review of my RG RX-78-2! I broke the chest piece when I was applying some finishing touches on the kit. Crap it was a nightmare! When the piece snapped into two I couldn't hold back and yelled NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! That serves another lesson for me. Never EVER force yourself into working with half-assed consciousness. Weeks came by and I was able to get in touch with someone who has a spare RG RX-78-2 kit. Viola, my kit is RESTORED! Onto the review, here's the RX-78-2 in its Real Grade Excitement Embodied glory Ah, the Real Grade. Stressing color separation. The attention given to the details of RG kits is just plain awesome! The different shades of white, red, and blue is fantastic. Showing off some articulation here, kneeling poses are a bit better than the RG Char Zaku. Goes to show that top notch engineering with a mini-skirt design Gundam works! That's Amuro by the way :p Will paint
