TT Hongli HG 1/144 Throne Drei - Review

Two posts in a day! Now I'm hyped up! I'll try to breeze along this review. This kit just didn't leave an impact on me. I'm in anguish waiting for my RG kits. Hopefully by next week I can have my goodies. Starting up front Side. Pardon the dusty finish. It fell while applying top coat :( Back Close up Some "action" poses. Sad to say, without any open hands or closed fists, I really can't do anything dramatic with this kit. Boo! Coolest part in my photoshoot below: NENA LET'S DOCK! YOKAI! ANIKI! *Chaching* PSSHHHH.. SHIN EEE!!!! Pros: Easy and fun to build No assembly cures Cons: If poseability is what you're looking for, look elsewhere One of the newer kits but still did not come with different sets of hands Minimal armaments -- I mean ZERO! Does not have any sort of gimmicks This kit is hideous BUT, the unit was not designed to actually have any kind of specialty. It simply acted as a support for Eins and Zwei in the se...

TT Hongli HG 1/144 Throne Drei - WIP 02

Alrightyroo! After a long week, finally it's time to finish this dude. No problem assembling the arms Snapping it to the finished body. Again, notice the orb is masked for protection from flat top coating later Detailed the fins a bit Legs too was a breeze so moving on here... Skirts have no problems. Assembling swiftly now :) My laughable attempts at hand painting. Learned that thinner is essential to prevent brush strokes. Patience is the key. Enamel paints painstakingly dries pretty long (around 30mins to an hour). After the first coat, let it sit and do 3 more. 1st coat 2nd coat - notice there are still hollow areas so wait for it to dry and do another 2. ..and the results are worth it. For me anyways. Drei's shield. Almost done and STILL NO ASSEMBLY CURES! Yay! :) Another shield Detailed the feet. Hand painted the black and used a Gold GM for the outline. Backpack looks good With his Epyon-ish wings Clips snugly on the back. No gluing done here...

TT Hongli HG 1/144 Throne Drei - WIP 01

Sorry all for the delay. I've been lazy this past 2 months and still haven't found the nack for going GunPla all out. My available hauls are not the type that I put my heart into. All that's left here is this guy - Thron Drei. Again, just like the Throne Eins, it is one of the rarest kit in TT Hongli. I had fun time with Eins so hopefully I do too with Drei. I'm positively sure that Drei also has that "perfect" mold in fitting the pieces.  Hmm... To be honest, after I assembled Eins, I am a little bit depressed with the result. Not that it turned out bad, but actually it was great. It just hit me that this kit has no special value / meaning / or something that gives me reason to get excited about. Whenever I get Char's MS, I'll obviously would start on it immediately and get the little details as perfect as possible. I'd also take a bunch of photos of it and would display it in front of my rack. And now, it's Eins and Drei. Two Mobile Suits th...

TT Hongli HG 1/144 Throne Eins - Review

Summing up my Throne Eins WIP, here's the review of the kit :) Front view Side Back With his backpack beam weapon. Humongous beam rifle you got there Eins! Few silly poses. Can't get much emotion with this Throne Eins because his only pair of hands are the closed fists. He's mad >:( Now he's really REALLY MAD D:< Crossbow!! Can't get much articulation / poses out of this guy Box art and his coolest pose! Setsuna shineeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!! Ali Al-Saachez.  Throne Eins. Exia exterminated. >:D Pros: An almost perfect build for a bootleg. Hmm, come to think of it, I give the assembly a perfect 10/10! Sturdy. No falling parts. Gigantic mega particle beam looks badass! Cons: Can't get much posing Articulation is limited due to design (Probably my nitpick and got too used with the newer models) I never thought I'd enjoy this much into building a non-preference kit. The design was "meh" at first but as I proceed in building ...

TT Hongli HG 1/144 Throne Eins - Assembly Cure

Okay, so let me wrap things up before immersing myself again in the world of the Witcher 2! Issue 01: A fitting problem with the head's male connector being too thick. Gently shave it off to fit it snuggly into the other piece. Issue 02: Shave the ball joint that connects the head to the neck. Careful not to shave too much! That sums up the consolidated fixes for TT Hongli HG Throne Eins. Hope you find this feat in my blog useful! Thanks :)

TT Hongli HG 1/144 Throne Eins - WIP 03

Down to business. I'm in a rush! Playing Witcher 2 yah know! Let's get started! Feet have no issues. Oh, and the feet has an inner skeleton structure which is pretty neat :) Feet complete Crab legs too have no issues. Aaahhh yes the luxury of having no issues with bootlegs. Cool~ Putting them together Weapons, again, don't need any cures so... ...Cha-ching! Done swiftly :) Touch-ups applied on the shield to give a little bit of detail and contrast. I love how the ammo looks but I should have painted it metallic silver. Oh well... :p Putting them all together and we have Eins !!! Fiddling with it around a bit, I noticed that the head likes to pop off. Fixing that we have - Issue 02: Shave the ball joint that connects the head to the neck. Careful not to shave too much! Whew. Two minor cures and that's that! Awesome! All that's left are panel lines and top coating so check out the review afterwards :) Cheers!
